Maybelline Magnum Volum’ Express Waterproof Mascara Review

Mascara…I noticed I never posted any mascara reviews. I like using mascara to make my lashes visible (I’m not gifted with brows and lashes so I’m thankful mascara and brow pencils were invented!) So here, my current mascara from Maybelline. Well, its not something new in the market, I even used the the Maybelline Falsies first before trying this.

Who wouldn’t notice this bright yellow tube on Maybelline counters?
image
Yes, my sister and I love Maybelline mascaras, they are good and affordable! Here are the old tubes that I found in the drawer.(Found them when I was cleaning our room) image
I’m a lazy kid sometimes, haha^^, just got this from their site for more info, P429 is the old price, its just P399 now.

The wand. I like that it has a lot of bristles.

Yes, as you can see, I have a barely-there lashes :( But thanks to mascaras, they make my lashes appear to life. haha.:)) One coat is not enough for me, I need 3 and sometimes curl it again (I know its a no-no but I make sure its already a bit dry and just curl it lightly)
What I like:
- Its waterproof
- It doesn’t smudge, no panda eyes!
- It doesn’t irritate my eyes
- Affordable (P399 only! *When Maybelline is on sale, go grab/ hoard mascara/s!^^)
-Its gives some volume and a bit lengthening
- It’s not really hard to remove
- Cute packaging
- Locally available, you can find it easily!

What I don’t:
- The formula is a bit dry that  it tends to clump sometimes. (I hate clumps. Grrr~) I feel like it will dry fast unlike my Maybelline Falsies and Extreme Stiletto.
- The brush is big for my lower lashes which are super short, whenever I try it, the mascara ends up on my lower lid too than just the lashes alone.
Its a good mascara and affordable one, also something you can use regularly. It lifts up my thin, pointed downward straight lashes. But if you’ll ask me if Magnum vs. Falsies, I’ll pick the Falsies. :)

Maybelline Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner Review

Hello everyone! So here, my first make up review for 2013, because I’ve posted about foods recently, ~oh beauty and foods <3 ^^ Okay enough. I’m here just to share my first gel eyeliner which I love. I got this last year, and luckily its not yet dry, it still works.

The black gel liner and the brush included.
image
I read from some articles that you can store your gel liner like this, upside down, to prevent it from drying.
image
The gel liner is on a small glass pot.  They say that gel eyeliners in glass jars don’t dry up as fast as those in plastic jars.
Tips on preventing the gel eyeliner from dying up fast
1. Place the cap of the jar tightly after use. Actually cap it after every dip of your brush. That’s what I do, I avoid it being exposed to the air.
2. Use a clean bush.
3. Keep it away from direct sunlight
image
Though some may prefer using an angled brush, actually I like this more. I sometimes use my angled brush from Charm but I still prefer and use the included brush more often.
image
How do I clean my brush and prevent it from becoming stiff?
1. I use eye make up remover
2. Wash it with foam cleanser and let it dry
image
I applied the last one too thick I guess, so there, it smudged when I rubbed it hard. Its waterproof, I can only remove it completely with an oil remover.
What I like:
-its creamy and easy to apply
-waterproof
-quick dry
-I like the “expert eyeliner brush” included
-Its been with me since last year, and its still not yet dry!
-the price, its affordable (P449). You just need a little bit of it to line your eyes.
What I don’t:
-it sometimes smudge at the middle of the day. Oh well, hello to our weather.
image
On my eyelids. If you want a more intense (glossy?) color, then I think you use a black liquid liner instead.
image
and a shameless picture of me. :))
How about you, what is your favorite eyeliner? :)

*By the way, has anyone tried CLIO kill black pen eyeliner? CLIO  is finally available here in the Philippines, I saw it in SM Megamall. (Hello Lee Hyo Ri ^^)

MAYBELLINE PURE.LIQUID MINERAL FOUNDATION REVIEW

******From my tumblr account www.whatsupmonica.tumblr.com curlsandblushingasian
Hello again! So for now, this is a review for Maybelline New York’s pure liquid mineral foundation. This is going to be one quick review.:)
image
The first foundation i ever tried is Maybelline’s mineral foundation (the one on small tube), then it was phased out (including the mineral blush on), then they returned it again with different packaging and Chinese letters are all over it ( the previous one don’t have a lot of chinese characters as i remember). So yeah, it’s Made in China.

I can see the word Paraben here. As much as I can, I’m trying to avoid products with parabens since they said that it has a bad effect but it is really usually in cosmetics .  I believe almost all cosmetics have this, even the BB creams.
~~~If you are a cosmetic junkie, i know most probably you don’t like paraben too.. I told this to my sister and she said, may be too much is bad, but if we’ll just use a little of it and occasionally (like just during week ends or when we just really need to), maybe that would be just okay, and I agreed to it since we only wear make up when we are going out on week ends—not all the time (no make up during school days, or may be just a little bb OR powder only) Like the old saying “Too much is bad”. So let’s move ON! :))
image
This is the pump. The pump is just fine. Not bad. :p
image
~~a little amount on my hand
image
~~blend^blend^
image
~~tada.:))
image
~~i even tried it on an eyeliner..
image
~~here. I’m not soo sure if it was covered, or erased.LOL.haha.
image
Price: P499. Check it out on nearest Maybelline in your place.:)
Pros:
- Its a Mineral foundation. with micro-minerals (Mineral makeup is much better for your skin than traditional cosmetics, because it is not petroleum-based and does not contain filler ingredients that block your pores, or irritate your skin.)
- with SPF 18~~
-the pump^^ its hygienic.
- packaging~~though its kinda heavy to bring (compared to its tube version before)
- they indicated all the ingredients in english. and the product info. :)
- suitable for sensitive skin
-lasted all day.:)
Cons:
- has parabens
- oil control. though its not bad, didn’t made me more oily. Just had to blot and put powder as usual.
~~~Don’t forget to remove your make up before you go to bed! Sleep with a clean skin! :)
Have a great day!
<3 Monica :)
